Door installation – measurement, fitting and removal of old doors
At SALUS PLUS we take care of professional measurement and installation of interior, security and fire doors. When replacing a door, we take out the existing one and, by arrangement, can also take it away. We install throughout Slovenia and on the Croatian coast.
How installation works
Four steps on installation day – from preparing the space to the final handover.

Protecting the space and preparation
Before we start, we protect the floors and the work area and get the tools we need ready. We make sure the work is as tidy and safe as possible.

Removing the old door
When replacing a door, we take out the existing door leaf and frame. We do this carefully to keep any damage to the surrounding surfaces to a minimum.

Installing and adjusting the door
We fit and fix the new frame and door leaf. Then we fine-tune the hinges and check the seals, the opening and that the lock works properly.

Clean-up and handover
Once installation is done, we clean the work area, check that the door works and show you how to use it correctly and look after it.

Before installation we check access, the lift and the route for bringing the door in. We protect the common areas, take out the existing door and install the new one.

We schedule installation around the construction and finishing work. Before fitting, we check the opening sizes and the finished floor height to make sure the door is installed correctly.

Replacing doors in a renovation
Replacing the leaf and frame
When replacing a door, we take out the existing leaf and frame and install a complete new door set. Fitting a new leaf to an old frame would take more work and cost more than replacing the frame.

5 things- Clear access to the building and entrance – make sure there is an unobstructed route for carrying in the door and materials.
- Clear space around the door – move furniture and other items aside so we can work safely and without interruption.
- Access to electricity – provide a power socket near the door for our tools.
- Tell us about any connected devices – let us know in advance about an alarm, electronic lock or other device connected to the door.
- Prepared openings in a new build – make sure the openings are the right size and let us know the finished floor height.

Installation can be included in the overall price of the door or listed as a separate item in the quote. This depends on the type of order and the agreed scope of work. Either way, the installation costs are clearly set out in the quote, so you know the full price before you order.
Get a quoteInstalling one door usually takes a few hours, depending on the type of door, how the opening is prepared and how complex the installation is. When replacing an existing door, removal and installation can often be done on the same day. We give a more precise estimate based on the conditions on site.
Yes, when replacing doors we can also take care of removing and taking away the old doors and frames. This is agreed in advance and listed in the quote. After installation we clean the work area so the space is ready to use.
For a standard door replacement, major building work is often not needed. In some cases, removing the old frame can cause minor damage to the reveals or require the opening to be adjusted. Any additional building and painting work is agreed based on the condition of the building and the agreed scope of installation.
No, at SALUS PLUS we only install doors from our own range. That way we ensure the door components are compatible, the installation is correct and the manufacturers' requirements are met. Our team specialises in installing interior, security and fire doors from the manufacturers we represent.
We give a 25-month warranty on doors, and we are responsible for the correct installation in accordance with the applicable regulations. On request, every customer can also receive an installer's declaration of correct installation, confirming that the door was installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Before installation, make sure there is clear access to the door, move furniture and other items away from it and provide access to electricity. If an alarm or other electronic device is connected to the existing door, let us know in advance. In a new build, the finished floor heights must also be known.
At SALUS PLUS we do not replace just the door leaf in an existing frame. Fitting a new leaf to an old frame requires extra work, and the cost could be higher than a new frame. That is why, when replacing a door, we install a complete door set that ensures a proper fit and correct operation.
