FAQ
Answers to what people ask us most often before ordering.
Price and payment
The price depends on the model, size, hardware and complexity of installation, so we do not publish starting prices. The quote includes measurement and delivery; installation can be included in the price or listed as a separate item. Taking the old door away is arranged separately. Send us an enquiry and we will prepare an individual quote after measuring on site.
Installation can be included in the overall price of the door or listed as a separate item in the quote. This depends on the type of order and the agreed scope of work. Either way, the installation costs are clearly set out in the quote, so you know the full price before you order.
The quote covers the door, frame, measurement, removal, installation, finishing trims and cleaning up; installation can be included in the price of the door or listed as a separate item. Taking the old door away is not included and is arranged separately. Extras depend on the door type and any additional requirements. All extras are listed in the quote before you order. Once you confirm the quote, the price stays fixed.
The price depends on the door type and class, the size, the material and finish, the type of lock and the complexity of installation. For security doors, the price rises most with the burglar resistance class. For interior doors, with made-to-measure sizes and special colours. For fire doors, with the required EI rating and the hardware.
Payment terms depend on the door type and the individual order, so we set them out in the quote. You can pay by bank transfer, in cash or by card. For businesses, the payment term is stated in the quote.
Lead times
The lead time depends on the door type, manufacturer, size and hardware, so we do not quote standard lead times. The expected lead time is stated in the quote or order confirmation. We schedule installation as soon as the doors arrive.
The conditions for the start of the lead time are set out in the quote or order confirmation. For made-to-measure doors, the measurement visit must also have taken place, as the measurements are part of the order to the manufacturer.
As a rule, we order doors from the manufacturer for each individual order. That way you are not limited to the models in a warehouse.
Warranty
We give a 25-month warranty on doors, and we are responsible for the correct installation in accordance with the applicable regulations. On request, every customer can also receive an installer's declaration of correct installation, confirming that the door was installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
For doors from our range we give a 25-month warranty in line with the warranty terms. We check whether a fault qualifies for a free repair based on its cause and the customer's legal rights. Service work outside the warranty or our statutory liability for defects is chargeable, and we let you know the expected costs in advance.
Clean your doors regularly: the seals with a damp cloth, without solvents, and wooden surfaces with a soft cloth, without abrasive cleaners. Check the hinges, lock and seals from time to time. Lubricate and maintain the door according to the manufacturer's instructions. If the leaf sticks or does not seal well, the door needs adjusting. For fire doors and doors with multi-point locking we recommend a regular yearly inspection.
Choosing doors and about us
Interior doors separate rooms within a flat or house. Security doors protect the entrance to a flat or house against burglary. Fire doors separate a building's fire compartments and are specified in its building documentation. When renovating a flat you often need a combination: a security entrance door and made-to-measure interior doors.
Bertolotto (Italy) makes wooden interior doors and refined design solutions for modern and classic interiors. Padilla (Spain) makes metal fire, security and technical doors for all kinds of buildings. Dierre (Italy) focuses on burglar-resistant and security doors for residential and commercial buildings. We choose the right brand after measuring, based on the type of building, the required class and the look you want.
The RC rating indicates burglar resistance under the EN 1627 standard. Class RC2 resists a break-in for about 3 minutes, RC3 for about 5 minutes and RC4 for about 10 minutes. The EI rating indicates fire resistance: the letter E stands for integrity, the letter I for insulation, and the number is the time in minutes. An EI30 door holds back fire and heat for 30 minutes. Both ratings apply to the whole door assembly, not just the leaf.
Yes. The on-site measurement is free and with no obligation. At the visit we measure the openings, check the condition of the frames and the wall thickness, and assess access for installation. We also advise on the choice of material, class and opening direction. After the visit we prepare a written quote with the final price.
Installation is done by our own team. We do not use subcontractors. The same team carries out the measurement, the installation and later servicing, so responsibility for the measurements and the work lies in one place.
We install throughout Slovenia and on the Croatian coast, working out of our showroom in Ljubljana. We measure at your property, whatever the region. For more distant locations, we combine measurement and installation into as few visits as possible.
